Conference Series
The Caribbean Geological Conference Series began in 1955 as a gathering for geologists from then British territories in the Caribbean. Before the inaugural meeting in Antigua, delegates from Puerto Rico, French Guiana, and the United States joined, expanding the conference's scope. Despite having only 37 participants, the meeting was highly successful, prompting a larger event in Puerto Rico in 1959. Since then, the conferences have been held every three years at various locations, incorporating field excursions to showcase the unique geological features of each host site.
